Ev3 has signed a lease for 75,0009 square feet in the Atria Corporate at 3033 Campus Drive alonbg Interstate 494in Plymouth. The locatiomn is about four miles from the buildingh that nowhouses ev3’s corporate and U.S. periphera l vascular business headquarters. Ev3 for space back in 2007. The companh has about 730 employees baser out of thePlymouth office, but that figure includes regionally based field sales staff who don’ actually work in the building. The company plansx to vacate 50,000 square feet at 9600 54th Ave. N. alongt Highway 169 in Plymouth. Its lease there expires in February 2010.
The company has no plans to add but needs more space to allow its workers tospread out, said ev3 spokeswoman Julie Tracy. “It’s a little bit bigger We’re kind of stuffed to the gillasright now,” she said. Ev3’s decision to move was based on getting abettere dollar-per-square-foot value. “It’s a tenant-favorable environment right now andso we’rde taking advantage of some of those favorabls rates and doing the move,” Tracy The Atria Corporate Center also has amenitieas such as a workout facilitty with showers, a cafeteria, room for salesz presentations and physician training and some sheltered parkinvg spaces.
Ev3 may also get some signagd facing I-494, Tracy said. The new lease was signed April 2. The value of the initial term of the dealis $7.6 based on monthly rent payments of $95,000 (not including a shares of the building’s operating expenses and for 80 months beginning Nov. 1, according to a filing ev3 made Tuesday withthe U.S. Securities & Exchanger Commission.
