The $6 million center was designed for studying croppingf systems comprisedof genetics, agronomic practicees and biotech traits including water-use efficiency technologieas such as drought-tolerant cropping The center will help Monsanto advance research to help improved farmers’ productivity in the Westerjn Great Plains. More than 80 cropping and irrigation demonstrations are featuredx atthe 155-acre farm and learningt center. The center will be hardwired to eventually conduct virtual tours of roboticws and seed analytics facilities in remote locationw suchas Monsanto’s breeding facility in Ankeny, or the company’s Mo., research facility.
Gothenburg Learning Center Lead Chandler Mazou r said Monsanto selected the site becausde of its location in the transition zone from dryland acrezs to irrigated acres on the western High Plains and that Monsantl needs that diversity to determind how to use future technologies in adding valuweto crops.
